Community building
The best example for establishing a community is the methodology of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s) and his Holy Family (a). Everything below follows that order.
The foundation
The Prophetic example
When establishing a community, the best example that we have is the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his Holy Family, who established a community in an area which the world's superpowers thought was impossible.
He switched people from being damned and hell-bound to people of heaven and heavenly characteristics. The methodology adopted began with ensuring there is trust and honesty at the very first stage, with a sincere intention to serve God and no personal gain in the intention.
Then begins starting small, through private invitation, creating a strong foundation. This is exactly like Hadith al-Dar, the hadith in which the Holy Prophet invited his near kinship and introduced Islam to them in a private setting. This was the beginning of Islam, and so the beginning of a community needs to be in a private setting.
Invite those who are similar and like-minded, share the idea with them, and start small. The Prophet remained small for several years before he introduced Islam publicly. So start small for however long you require, until the foundation is established.
Once a good, strong foundation is established and there is a reliable group of people, then introduce it slowly to the public. Each person invites a person that they know, each person reaches out. Then go further than that: start creating public announcements and open it to the wider community.
This has a higher success rate in comparison to establishing from the beginning with no strong foundation, no clear leadership, and expecting the whole public to come and attend and support. That is not impossible — it is possible — but the likeliness of the first situation is why it is the methodology the Prophet adopted.
The path
The stages, in order
You do not need a big venue or a formal curriculum to begin. You need trust, a sincere intention, and a small private start.

Begin with trust and honesty
The first stage of the Prophetic method was not a programme or a venue — it was trustworthiness. Before anything is announced, the people involved must be known for honesty. A community grows on the reputation of its first few members.

Purify the intention
The intention must be to serve God, with no personal gain carried inside it: no name, no platform, no position. When the intention is sincere, decisions later on become much simpler.

Start small, through private invitation
Follow Hadith al-Dar: the Holy Prophet gathered his near kinship privately and shared the message with them. Invite like-minded people you already know, in a private setting, and share the idea with them there.

Stay small until the foundation is strong
The Prophet remained small for several years before going public. Take however long you need to build a reliable core group with clear leadership. This stage is not a delay; it is the foundation.

Grow person to person
Once the foundation holds, open it slowly. Each person invites one person they know and reaches out personally. Growth by relationship integrates people far better than growth by announcement.

Then open it to the wider community
Only after that, move to public announcements and invite the wider community. Starting here instead — with no strong foundation and no clear leadership — is possible, but far less likely to last.
A note on consistency
A small circle that meets every two weeks for a year will build more brotherhood or sisterhood than a large event that happens once. Choose a rhythm you can sustain, protect it, and let it grow naturally.
